This week's Balkan Sundays will be a never before seen band featuring longtime collaborators Aya Safiya (violin, vocals) and Gregory Masaki Jenkins (clarinet vocals) as well as a special Bay Area appearance by electric bass virtuoso Han Beyli from Boston by way of Ukraine. The band will be rounded out by local favorites Dan Cantrell the accordion wizard and Balkan Sundays boss Sean Tergis. The music will be from all over the Balkans, more often from the Greek, Turkish, Albanian, and Romani traditions.
